S.C. Gov. Nikki Haley and Commerce Secretary Bobby Hitt will join Black Water Barrels President Greg Pierce and other company officials for a ribbon-cutting ceremony at noon Wednesday at the company’s newly-established facilities in Bamberg.
Details on potential job creation and expansion at the Bamberg County facility will be discussed on Wednesday.
Black Water Barrels, LLC, is a new cooperage business establishing operations in Bamberg County. The business will specialize in the production of 53-gallon barrels of FAS-grade, quarter-sawn American White Oak primarily for use in the bourbon industry, but also by wineries and breweries. To house its operation, the company purchased the former Zeigler Chevrolet dealership at 3914 Main Highway and plans to expand the facility over time.
