HUD has new online resource tool

PromiseZone_logoThe U.S Department of Housing and Urban Development has a rich, new online tool that allows a full website search on the HUD Exchange, a huge resource that includes results from all areas of HUD’s website that don’t require login access.

You can now use the search to find pages, resources, trainings, news, FAQs, grantees, reports, and other content. Users will be able to filter results by topic and by content type. The search will remain powered by the Google Search Appliance which adapts to user behavior, learning to deliver better results over time. Links that get more clicks automatically move up in the search ranking. Read more

Barnwell plant to create 105 jobs in $230 million expansion

Kronotex facility to add fiberboard mill, expand flooring production

DEC. 22, 2015 | A Swiss company will invest $230 million and create 105 new jobs in an expansion of a Barnwell County plant, officials announced today. To support the expansion, the Coordinating Council for Economic Development has approved job development credits, as well as a $1 million Rural Infrastructure Fund grant to Barnwell County to assist with the costs of real property improvements related to the project.

Swiss Krono Group, one of the world’s leading producers of engineered wood products, and its American subsidiary, KronotexUSA Holdings, Inc., is investing $230 million to build a high-density fiberboard (HDF) mill and expand its laminate flooring production, an investment that will create 105 new jobs over the next few years. Cypress Creek Renewables investing $8 million in Allendale County

15.12.cypresscreekDEC. 21, 2015 | Cypress Creek Renewables, a company that specializes in the ownership and development of long-term solar energy projects, has taken first steps toward investing $8 million in a solar energy project in Allendale County. The project, which is expected to be fully operational by the end of 2016, will create 40-60 jobs during construction. Read more
